Anyway for the past few months he's been throwing up pretty much everyday and just constantly sleeps because he has no energy. He's lost over 20 pounds and is now down to 81, which is obviously not very healthy for a 14 year old boy. The doctors are worried that if he continues to lose weight his organs are going to start failing, and at that point he wouldn't even be able to be put on a transplant list. He's going in for an appointment this Thursday, where they're going to go ahead and admit him into the hospital until he gets a heart... which means he'll be spending the holidays in the hospital this year.
We have no idea how long it will actually take to get a heart but apparently the wait is quicker if you're checked into a hospital, which is
why they want to go ahead and get him in before he gets anymore critical.
We kind of always knew this was a great possibility for this to happen but we were just hoping it wouldn't come to this. He has met a few kids that have had transplants and were able to get back into their everyday lives, including sports, so that is great for him because he hasn't been able to play baseball for about a year now. It really sucks for him right now because he hasn't been to school in over a month so he's not getting to see his friends on a regular basis, which I think is making him sad too. Anyway I'm sorry this is so long but please please keep him in your thoughts/prayers for the next few months, I already know it's going to be rough.

Congrats. Im very happy for you and your family.
