I live in California and I know that a major US bank pays their tellers about $10/hr.

Not as much as some may think. Depending on experience etc., around $8.00 to $10.00 an hour.

My friend who is a bank teller only makes about 8, but we do live in the South where cost of living and wages are typically a bit lower.
