I stopped to get gas and my card was rejected at the outside pay thing so I went in and it was rejected there too! The machines didn't even ask for my pin
code they just rejected me. The cashier said my card might have been demagnetized (however that happens). I was embarrassed even though the rejection
wasn't based on money. I went to another gas station and my card worked so I know it was just those machines but still embarrassing.
I was so embarrassed tonight!

Cards get declined all the time for tons of different reasons. I wouldn't worry about it.

That happened to me before when I was grocery shopping and I had to leave all my stuff behind. I was so upset.

I had that happen all the time when I was a cashier. I tried to explain to the people who were embarrassed that it's happened to a lot of people and that
certain banks put holds on cards. Many times its for a security reason. No need to worry!

I hate it when that happens, and it's crazy to me when it does. I agree that it's embarrassing even mortifying if there's a line behind you, I
almost always have an extra card handy if I don't have cash on me just in case.
Strangely enough every time it happens to me is at Walgreens. I have no idea why their machines hate my card. It's a debit card from my credit union but for some reason you have to always run it as credit. That's probably why, because it's wonky like that. So yeah, I always just bring a back-up just in case. |
