should not be allowed to adopt. What do you think? A person in my class today was arguing this and I think it's crazy but do any of you JJBers agree with her?

What? That's stupid. Adoption would be my last option (because I want my own children), but if, God forbid, I couldn't have my own, I know I could love
and care for a child that isn't mine just as much.

Have you ever seen the insane, otherworldly gratefulness and love a couple who thought they would never be able to have kids feels when that baby or child is
placed in their arms? It even moves my cold black heart

What if couples try for years to have kids and never succeed? I would like to see one of those morons tell them they are not allowed to have kids. Because I
like violence.

That makes no sense! Last option as opposed to what? Snatching some random kid off the street? Stealing sperm from a fertility clinic to inseminate yourself
with?
''Well, we've officially tried EVERYTHING, Honey! I guess it's time to grudgingly make that call to the adoption agency...Oh wait! I see there's a doctor that's doing genetic experiments in dog/human hybrids, down in Mexico! Call the travel agent!'' |

Whatever reason people adopt, as long as they have love for those children, it's all good.

I think that they should be able to because you know that they truly want to have a child and they will treat an adopted child better than most kids out there.

That's what options are. You make it seem like it's a last resort or a take it or leave it situation. As long as it's part of their family plan,
there shouldn't be anything wrong with it. Many women want the experience of carrying a child themselves and when they can't they turn to adoption.
That doesn't make it a shittier choice.

Why shouldn't they be able to take a child out of the system?! Is a kid going to have a better life sitting in an orphanage rather then getting adopted by
parents who tried every option to have a child of their own? I would adopt if I couldn't have my own children.

xomadi89 wrote:This is not entirely accurate. I've been researching adoption for years because it's what I want to do, and I've read really sad stories about people who struggle with infertility for years and choose to finally adopt only to treat the child like shit. Punishing the child for not being able to conceive one naturally. It's disgusting. There was actually a story about a woman who adopted a baby and gave him up because he didn't hug her when she wanted him to. |

well, my auntie and uncle would be without 4 of their daughters if this were the case, because they had a few biological children first. and their good friends
would be without children at all, and they are incredible parents. who knows were those little girls would be without them. not every adoptive family is great,
but just because a couple tries to have biological children first, i don't think that means they should be written off.
was she playing devil's advocate? perhaps she had a bad adoption experience? |
