That's a bad comparison though, just looking at profit versus salary. Shia, for example, was in Indiana Jones and Transformers - his salary is a tiny part of the budget for those movies and their success really isn't down to him personally. The reason his ratio looks good is because he's a (relatively) lower paid actor who is starring in blockbusters. Give him a few years when he gets more expensive and starts experimenting with smaller films, that ratio will shrink considerably.

Whereas a smaller more arty movie might spend a substantial chunk of its budget trying to get somebody like Leo, but then he'll put a lot more bums in seats than they'd have ever got before and what the movies make probably is a lot down to the star pull.
