I live in an apartment complex and we have this laundry room that has 4 washers and 4 dryers. I usually do my laundry during daytime when i'm at home so i
can avoid busy time. And most of the time nobody does any laundry during that time so i like it. And i did my laundry today and i always set up an alarm so i
don't forget to pick up my laundry on time. And i went back the laundry to pick up my 5 towels and 2 of my panties and 2 of my bf's socks. And guess
what!!!!!!!!! THEY'RE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you sure they're not under a table or anything? Maybe on top of the dryer?

I mean, you probably thought you could leave them and come back with no problem since they weren't sweaters or jeans or something.
People these days...

I lived in seattle for 3 years and lived in an apartment complex and i did the same for 3 years nothing happend... And i moved to Austin this month and that was my 4th time laundry at this new apartment. And this happened... I don't blame Austin.. I mean this sucks. |

Sometimes people see a bag and grab the bag thinking there's something of value inside. Was the laundry in a bag or was it stolen right out of the dryer? Not that it matters or anything. I just can't get over the fact that a person can look inside a machine, see towels and underwear that aren't theirs and say "I want this stuff!" WTF?

That happened here (in the middle of the country - the town has a population of like less than 7,000. We got new machines & the washer locks until it
finishes (and the washers & dryers say how many minutes the clothes will be done in) so I go down after 30 minutes to get my clothes to put them in the
dryer for 50 minutes, I kinda watch the clock.
Someone has gotten their clothes stolen before - so I don't like leave my laundry down there and not pay attention because I don't want it to get taken. |

The same thing happened to my sister when she lived in an apartment building. She has expensive shit stolen, though. Idk why anyone would want socks towels and
underwear. Maybe you can ask the office to check security cameras?

I hate public laundromats. I never felt comfortable leaving my stuff there, because of worrying about someone stealing it. I remember in the one place I used
to go to, there was a creepy guy that worked there, that always wanted to ''help me fold''

And even if they found it I wouldn't want it back.
It creeps me out when I hear staff stealing other people's homemade lunches out of the fridge as well. I guess I'm too paranoid but using/eating a stranger's personal stuff? Noooo!! The same way if a stranger used some of my personal stuff I'd be creeped out. I just don't get it. |

Was the laundry in a bag or was it stolen right out of the dryer? My laundry was in the dryer. I don't leave any laundry baskets or bags there. I was using the top dryer and the bottom one was being used at the moment. |

The office lady just answered the phone and of course she said this is the first time they ever heard somebody got stolen their laundry and she said she's
sorry but there's nothing else she can do like i expected
And we don't have any security cameras around this complex. I just went there again to see in case they returned it but no...

This could've been a lot worse. Sure it's upsetting, but thank god it was only towels and not a load of jeans or something.

Well it's a tough lesson learned. Sorry it happened. It really makes you angry because you know the person didn't even need the items. Some people steal just because they can. |
