We get mail in our inbox daily about getting our mandatory flu and swine flu vaccine. We have signs everywhere with the symptoms of swine flu. We're under a restriction right now where people 13 and under are not allowed to visit or be on the premises unless they are a patient and 8 of the patients in our hospital right now have swine flu. So now, I have a little bit of a sore throat and a headache so my first thought is "OMG I have swine flu I'm gonna die oh my god!!!!! " This shit is turning me into a damn hypochondriac.

I got a seasonal flu shot back in February, but they're not sure if I need another one right now (since they said one every year) or if I should get another one just to be safe. If I do, I'll get one, but if I don't, then I have to go to employee health and get a waiver form signed. I'm gonna get the swine flu vaccine, but I have to wait until my next day off. The hours to get vaccinated are all during my shift, and I don't have time to go over and get it done during then.

I just don't wanna be in the hospital (I hate hospitals, go figure) and I don't wanna die.

She said "You brought this on yourself cuz last time you were here we were talking about the H1N1 vaccine and you said you would probably end up with it anyway. You jinxed yourself."

The hours to get vaccinated are all during my shift, and I don't have time to go over and get it done during then. i'm in the process of getting shots for international travel, and one of the shots i had to get was the flu shot (which i would have gotten anyway). our travel nurse told us that the flu shot lasts for approximately 6 months, so i imagine you'd be safe to get one now if you had one in february? assuming the six month thing is true, of course.
