When I served I pretty much knew when I gave good service and when I dropped the ball. But there were a few times where I felt like I gave good service and either didn't get tipped or was tipped very poorly. I've always wanted to ask those guests if their service was all right or what they felt I did wrong or could have done differently. I never have because I was always afraid that the guest would get offended or think I was rude and report me, then I would get in trouble. But I think it's a fair question.

at my old job this server got tipped like 45 cents or something. she
chased the dude down the street and gave it back to him saying he forgot his change. he was HEATED.
