Allie's gained four ounces now and the lactation consultant said that overall I'm doing all the right things. She did give me a nipple shield to use, though. She does feel that she's got nipple confusion and the shield will help with that at least until she can wake up a little more and her mouth gets a little bigger, too. She also said she's sure she'll be back to birth weight in two weeks and that I can probably start weaning her off of the shield in 2-4 weeks. I did have to give her another bottle of formula last evening but I'm going to try to keep at least one bottle of pumped milk on hand at all times so that if I can't get her to latch then she can still have breast milk.
I think that's about it. She wasn't able to offer many different ideas to help but because she is finally gaining again she thinks it'll work out. And I feel a little better/more confident about it now.
Thanks again to everybody that offered a little support and let me cry the other night. I did feel better afterward.

I'm glad things are going better!
Glad she is gaining weight!
