Do you want them to call you mom? That's kinda weird.

Eh, it's not weird if the other parent isn't involved. Like, my niece calls my sister "mom", even though that's not her biological
mother. Her useless bio is not involved, though.
I'm assuming their biological mom is involved? |

My aunt's stepchildren call her "Ms. HerName." If I talked to my stepmother, I'm sure I'd call her Ms. Callie. Maybe it's a
Southern thing, but it seems the polite thing to do. I wasn't allowed to call an adult by his/her first name under most circumstances, so even though
I'm grown now I still wouldn't do it.

I called my step mom by her first name. I remember that when they got married (I was 4) my father told me I could call her mom or by her name. But I felt I
already had a mom, so...

I don't have step children or anything, but I think if their biological mother was involved in any way I would feel weird if they called me mom.
A few of my very best friends growing up (they were sisters) had a step mom who married their dad when they were old enough to know already, and they were actively in their biological mom's life, yet after the marriage their dad pretty much obligated them to call her their step mom "mom". That effed with them so much. Anyway they're grown women now and their dad divorced her not long ago.. they pretty much hate her now. |
