I'm thinking of buying one or the other. I need to consider space, varied workout ability and accomodating several fitness levels. Anyone have any bits of
wisdom or sites I could check out to help me make my decision?

I like treadmills better because you burn more calories, but if you're obese I would get the elliptical.

I prefer the elliptical. I feel like it works more areas of my body and it is easier on my knees. I find it to be a MUCH harder workout than just
jogging/running on my treadmill.

I much prefer the treadmill, but the elliptical is a good choice is you have sensitive knees or ankles.

the elliptical is probably my very favorite thing to do, gym-wise, so i'd say go with that.

Just thought I would point out that there are treadmills that fold up to save space. So, if you do not have much space or just want to save space...you may
want to look at a fold up version, that is if you do go with a treadmill.

The treadmill is actually a better workout. The elliptical is great for burning calories but you won't see a great improvement on your running time/ease of
running. The elliptical, however, is no-impact, so if you have bad knees or are obese, it might be a better choice.

I would say treadmill with a good diet. I have found the elliptical to not be that effective.

I have both and my elliptical takes up a ton of room. Its pretty heavy so its a year old and it still sits in my living room. The ramp part donest work great
so the work out is only resistance based. My treadmill is in my room and I use it sometimes but it seems to work my heart more and I get side cramps easier.
(ie it kicks my ass)
I hurt a ton when I walk or job so mentally I think its the better work out since I dont HATE it. Where on the elliptical I just feel "tight" the day after not like I have been hit by a truck. |

It's a personal preference. I hate the treadmill. It's not that I'm out of shape or have bad knees, I just really hate running.

I get really bored on the treadmill, so elliptical.

Eliptical is better for me because I have really bad knees, but we have two treadmills. They also fold up so it's great for space and they have wheels so
you can roll them in front of the tv if you want.
