Will the Fame Monster be eligible for Grammy's next year, or will it count with The Fame this year?

Did we do this already? I've listened to I Am...Yours, and she's not reinventing the wheel. WTF?
I love how she got 10 nods and PINK got ONE! WTF?! |

And to crunk1000...really, Norah Jones, Outkast and the Dixie Chicks are all legends? Norah Jones was a flash in the pan, and it could be argued that the Dixie Chicks got the same kind of press a few years ago over their Bush shit that Taylor got with Kanye. Outkast is a great duo but calling them legends is extreme. Those albums deserved it their years. I would think that Beyonce or Taylor would deserve it this year. Both albums were pretty good. |

Their album was unique, something that was unheard of before in the mainstream. Same goes for Santana. And I know that Dixie Chicks mainly won because of the Bush controversy, but that doesn't make their music any less amazing. Anyone who listened to their previous work would know this. And for those who didn't bring anything new to the music scene, they really excelled in their respective genres with great music and lyrics. Can you really say that about Black Eyed Peas and Beyonce? I'm not denying that they're good, especially Beyonce who i think is a great singer. But I Am.. is a generic pop/r&b album, there's nothing ground-breaking in it. Songs like Halo are very nice IMO, but they're not Grammy deserving. Lady Gaga is very talented as well, but The Fame was also a generic pop album. It was with The Fame Monster that she really came out as an artist, and she should have got her first AOTY nomination with this. |

Man, these nominations are such a letdown... talk about being mainstream. Album of the year nominations suck really hard.

I'm really hoping for a DMB victory in that category. I really don't understand what the recording academy was thinking.
And I count Outkast as hip-hop legends. You can't mean to tell me that BEP, Taylor and Beyonce's albums are on the same par as Dixie Chicks, Outkast and Norah Jones because that would be a lie. |

What people forget is that these nominations are for the YEAR. It's not a lifetime achievement award, not an artist of the millenium award. It's for
the past year. Doesn't put them into legend status and I'm not sure if there are any new albums in 2009 that could be "legends" like those
listed. This music impacted 2009 in a big way. Fans or not, there's no denying it.

Gaga and Swift are the only worthy ones. I barely saw BEP this year.

I wish you would understand these albums are not the best albums of the year-not by a long shot.

No one said that this was a lifetime achievement award-that doesn't even make sense. I wish you would understand these albums are not the best albums of
the year-not by a long shot. The mere fact that Maxwell is not nominated in this category invalidates this list.

I understand Taylor was very popular this year. However, she is not a great singer and her songs are not great. But I loath most country music, so that's
probably why I think that way.
I think this year sucked monkey balls so the nominations are not shocking. How anyone can be surprised that Beyonce, Taylor, and GaGa are nominated so much must have been lucky enough to not have a radio around them the past year. I sure hope Eminem does not win this year. His albums suck, he sucks, and I wish he would have really retired instead of toying with us and returning this year with more crapolla. |

I'm not shocked by the Beyonce hate on here. It's the one thing I can count on JJB for!
I'm frickin' thrilled for her. She works her ass off and she's really talented, too. I'm still mad Gaga can't get Best New Artist, though. |

It's fine if you like her in a guilty pleasure way or (genuinely if you're 12) but for a grown ass adult to really sit down and listen to Fearless and say, you know what, this is worthy of being album of the year? There has to be something seriously going wrong in your brain. |

I have a feeling Taylor Swift will win most. She's sweet and all, but I just can't stand her. I also do not think she is deserving of half the awards
she's won this year.
