My boyfriend and I are going up to Long Island to spend Christmas with my family, and we were hoping to stay over one night in the NYC while we're up. We
have tickets to see an off-broadway show on 12/27, so it will probably be that night. I just have no idea what some of the more decently priced hotels are.
The only hotel I ever stayed at in NYC was the Doubletree in Times Square, which was nice, but I just looked that up, and it's $1000+ a night. Faaack
that.

Hotel Carter. $100 per night, a block from Times Square.

Don't listen to Kelly; Hotel Carter is a rat infested hell hole.
Give Priceline's name your own price a shot, my friends had a lot of luck with it when they've come to visit

Try something downtown or in Chelsea. Go on Expedia or Hotels.com.

There's a holiday inn express in chelsea/midtown that's reasonable. However, this time of year who knows.

My boyfriend and I visited NYC for two nights in August and stayed at The Belnord on the upper west side (I wanna say 87th/86th street and a couple blocks west
of Central Park). It was about $80/night and both nights on weekdays. It was very small but very clean...and we didn't mind the size because we weren't
there except to sleep anyway. We really liked the location too. Walking distance to the park and lots of restaurants/bars close by. I would recommend it.

I always go to the Mayfair New York when I'm in NYC. I LOVE it, and we get a king size suite for 180. They have double and queen rooms but they're
really tiny. It's clean, right by times square and the people are so nice. It's a very charming hotel.
