My sister and her boyfriend live together in Australia. But now that they are visiting my parents for the holidays, they can't be alone in the same room.

My dad doesn't--he's not a worrier at all. My mom totally does though. If I have a long drive she likes me to call her when I get there. She
wouldn't ever stop me from going anywhere late, but she just wants to know I get there safe. I don't mind!

My parents worry about EVERYTHING I do. My dad seriously thought I was going to die because my friend and I went some place 2.5 hours away.

Absolutely, my parents will go to bed or whatever, but they say they're alert to my coming home... and i know it's true because they always seem to
know what time it was.

My mom will usually fall asleep on the couch waiting for me, and I'm 23. She doesn't bother me, she just wants to know I got home- if I'm not going
home I always call /text so she doesnt wake up in the middle of the night and think I'm dead.
My brother and sister are married with children and she worries about them if they have like a long drive or something- she waits till they call saying they got home. |

It's not the dad- it's my mom... so I just call her when I leave the location I'm at then call her when I get home

My job sometimes has me working till 2 or 3 in the morning and my mom says she doesn't go into a sound sleep till she knows I'm home. She didn't used to be like that. When I was in high school I really didn't have a curfew. As long as my parents knew where I was it was okay. So in the summer I would get home at 7 in the morning as my parents were walking out the door to go to work and it was never a big deal. They knew were I was and knew I wasn't doing anything illegal. |

My parents don't bother me if I'm out late, but they do want my sister and I to call if we go out of town. My mom will always wake up when I come home
late though.

Yeah he'll wait up or be lying on the sofa half awake with the TV on til I get home. Its sweet but only really happens to me cos I'm the youngest of my
siblings.

My mom is the worst. According to her, I'm 13. I don't even live with her and she'll start going on about its too late and I should be home. But my
younger sister can go out any time of the night.

I am not single and don't live at home, but my parents still worry if I am not in bed safe with locked doors by like...dark. It is natural

He cannot grasp the fact that my friends as adults and I go out later and not go out at 8pm. Sometimes he will flip out and just say that whole lecture about how he "lost" his daughters. It does irk me sometimes because I still get lectures. But, I just have to accept it and live with it. They get really paranoid and worry a lot and I know it is because they care about me and my safety. They are quite overprotective and I still clash with them when it comes to going out and coming back later, but I understand why they are that way and that we will never see eye to eye when it comes to that issue.I also come from a Muslim background and I am the first daughter/eldest child. Usually my mom will stay up until I get back home. |

My dad does the same thing. He always worries about me when I'm out late (which isn't often). I'm 22 now but my dad was always like that. I
remember one time before I had a cell phone I was at my friend's house up town and they knew that's where I was going but it was snowy and I decided to
stay there. I forgot to call home and he was out driving up and down the roads looking for my car afraid that I was in a ditch somewhere. I felt so bad but I
completely forgot to call home and they couldn't get ahold of me.
