Even though they did change the ending of The Notebook for film, I did enjoy the book as much as I did the movie...due in large part to the wonderful casting and direction and cinematography. It was a great film. Same with Message in a Bottle, it was done really well and I liked both the book and the movie equally.
The film version of A Walk to Remember is lackluster, IMO. It's cute, but I think it wasn't as successful at incorporating the contemporary into what is a largely traditional book. So the tone was just awkward. But it was very cute. Nights in Rodanthe...good book, awful movie. I'm a little iffy on Dear John and The Last Song. I wish a film version of A Bend of the Road would be made, it's my favorite Nicholas Sparks book. |

I want to see the movie. Never read the book, but I read the summary of the book and it sounds really stupid.

A Bend in the Road is my favorite NS book also. A movie adaption would be interesting to see.

I LOVE Nicholas Spark's books. I cried like a baby through all of them. While reading The Notebook I cried so much that I ended up damaging the book because I couldn't put it down...lol I'm excited about Dear John, but I feel like RKKanhai is right with what she said in the spoiler.

I'm seeing Dear John tonight...I didn't like A Walk To Remember when I first saw it, but it grew on me and I didn't like The Notebook either, but I'm starting to tolerate it.

I didn't read the book but I hated what happened in the movie, so not what I was expecting. And of course I cried.

I haven't read the book but just got back from the movie and have to say, it wasn't what I heard "discussed" by other people and it didn't end like I predicted. I still really enjoyed it though! I'll say it's the first Nic Sparks book/movie that didn't make me dislike him for once. And yes, a lot of tissue moments and others where I was surprised.
