Big calorie deficits are not good for you. They say it's better to burn off those calories through more exercise than with diet. Your body needs fuel. If it doesn't get enough it's going to start cannibalizing its own muscle tissue for fuel. The less muscle you have the less calories you'll burn at rest making it harder to continue to lose weight at those low calorie levels you love to keep yourself at. Eating 2000 calories is not a lot of food. And it's not too much if you're healthy and exercising like you should be.

Yeah, I haven't started going to the gym yet, but in a few days when I do, I know I'll have to up my calories a bit.

I used one of the sites posted and did the calculation for the ideal weight. Can someone explain the wrist with the thumb and finger to determine the size of the frame? My thumb and finger overlap on my wrist, so that means a small. But I have some thighs and hips, so wouldn't that mean a medium/large?

And also the less weight you need/want to lose the smaller the calorie deficit will need to be because your body isn't going to want to let go of those last few pounds.

I eat between 1800-1900 calories/day. I try not to go over 2000. It's the same thing as imnotsayingitright. I could be stricter about calorie intake, but I know I'll start obsessing. I also get ravenous when I workout, so I like giving myself a little slack. As I continue to lose weight, I'll lower calorie intake, but I'm good for the moment.
I track my calories on the LoseIt! app for iPhone and visit sparkpeople.com regularly. |

When I used the Lose It app on my iPod touch I usually ate around 1300-1700 calories a day. That was eating normal foods, just eating healthy portions.

I have been counting my carbs more than calories. I cut out sugar and do no more than 120 carbs a day. I walk 30 min a day on the treadmill. I have lost 11 pounds in two weeks with this.
