A friend of mine was a die hard Colts fan like myself up until 2 years ago. Her now husband is a major Cowboys fan so now she is too. She now says she hates the Colts and LOVES Dallas. I don't know if something other than her husband changing her mind but I just found it a bit odd.
Would you start rooting for a different team for your SO?

I wouldn't. The teams I like I grew up liking so it would be weird that after almost 25 years I would suddenly like a new team and hate the team that I used to like. However, I could see myself rooting for the team my husband liked if they weren't playing my team.

I wouldn't. But neither of us are very into different sports teams. He seems to like the teams I like though.

Nope, I love my teams for a reason and it would take a lot to change that.

Nope, I like what I like. I can like other teams. For example, if I ever move to Denver like I want I could root for the Broncos and the Avalanche, but my teams would always be the Bills and Sabres. In baseball...I'm a Red Sox fan. I'm not going to turn into a Yankees fan for anyone but I can root on other teams on occasion.

I asked her about it and she told me it's no different then when I would root on Dale Jr. to win at Nascar because he's my husband's favorite driver. But I hated Nascar before my husband and still don't care for it but I would rather his driver win than any other

I would probably just root for both teams, but I would never give up my team. When they played each other- I would be decked out in my Bills jersey.
But a lot of times half the fun of a game is heckling your friends who are rooting for the other team. |

Nope. If anything, I'm so competitive, I usually begin to dislike his teams. lmao

Depends on the situation. I am a die-hard Dolphins fan and they will ALWAYS be my #1, and will definitely never go for anyone over them, but I wouldn't have a problem rooting with him for his team as long as they weren't playing the Dolphins. Unless he was a fan of the Jets or Eagles because I hate them and would rather die than root for them, so if my SO was a fan of either of those 2 teams, it would NEVER happen.

Never. I like who I like and my boyfriend/husband isn't going to change that.
Thankfully though, we both like the same team in the only sport that I actually have a favorite team in. |

Only if my SO was actually playing for the team himself or had a brother or something that did.

I wouldn't switch teams but I would root if their favorite team went far and mine didn't. I love my teams but I'm not that big of a fanatic when it comes to sports.
