Some more information about the movie, hopeful for a late 2008 release, but if it's still shooting I don't know how realistic that is.

HCM CITY - Chris T. McIntyre, an American independent film director and producer, is shooting the Rex Hotel in the centre of HCM City for a new movie entitled 21 and a Wake-uu..
The film is the first American film about the Second Indochina War to be shot on the locations where the real events took place.
Its budget is US$3 million.
21 and a Wake-up follows the lives of a dozen soldiers, doctors, nurses and journalists through a single week in 1971 as America's commitment to the Indochina War waned and resources were held back.
At one point, the movie re-enacts the notorious Sai Gon press briefings held at the Rex, dubbed the Five O'clock Follies on account of the questionable spin on information given to the international press.
The film claims no sides in its politics, and only seeks to portray a unique historical moment in Vietnamese and American history.
McIntyre expects a December 2008 release for the film stateside and a spring release in Viet Nam. - VNS
