A few weeks ago I decided that I wanted to quit my job, so I started randomly applying to other jobs and one of the companies contacted me for an interview.
The interview got postponed a bunch of times and I finally had it today, but now I don't hate my current job and I don't really know if I want to quit.
Anyway, I got contacted from the company again for a second interview, but they want to do it next week and it takes two days. Here's my issue - we are
so busy at my current job and I really can't take any time off until mid-September, so is it really bad if I ask them to postpone it until then?

More than likely they're not going to wait. I got called on tuesday to see if I'd come in the next day for an interview. I was out of town and ask if I
could do it the following wed, the dude was yeah contact me when you get back in. I contacted him the next tuesday and he was all well we've already done
first rounds, keep you resume on file, thanks. If it's something you're truly interested in I'd say take some sick days and go interview. If
you're not that interested in the job and don't care if you get it or not, ask them to wait and run the risk of them saying no.

Honestly, unless the new job pays better or will open more doors, it just sounds like a lousy idea. You don't even know if you will get the new job.

They hire a lot of people, so I don't really think that I'm interviewing for one specific spot or job. I don't know that for sure though.

Take the days off to interview if you still want the job. Tell your boss you have an important family issue out of town and go. Your boss should understnad
since it's something that would be out of your control.
If you want to stay at your current job, then call the interviewer up and say so. Don't waste their time and ask to be kept in mind for the next time they're looking. |
