I am in awe. There is no way this dude should be this fast and 6'5"!! he is a good 6 inches taller than most sprinters. AND he did this against the
wind. Had there been no headwind, he would have been a little faster. Unreal.

Am I the only person in the world who is annoyed by his cockiness? He's a great runner, there's no denying that.

He is a little annoying with his cockiness, but I guess he has something to be cocky about.

He has EVERY right to be that cocky. He's a 21 year old kid who is now the fastest in the world. It would be awesome to see someone knock him off his high
horse, but I don't think that's going to happen for a LONG time. It took 12 years for someone to beat Michael Johnson's record. I bet it'll
take even longer to beat Usain's.

I agree... I think the only person capable of breaking Usain's record is Usain.

He's a showman. He's cocky in front of the crowd but he's so gracious in interviews. I think he's the perfect mix.
And some of those 100m and 200m pictures are mixed up. |

oh yeah and since nbc still got mike phelps cum down their throats and won't show any of the medal ceremonies for lightning and the other jamaicans, if
interested go to this site and you can watch the ceremonies and some of the races.

Thanks for the link, that is my new favourite web site.
Watching him win with Jamaican commentators and the clips of the streets of Jamaica after he won... amazing.

I usually like humility but in this case, I think he has every right to be cocky. Once everyone else catches up with him, then we will talk. In the mean time,
he seems to be way ahead everyone else. I wonder if there is anyone like him who's 6'5 and has that kind of agility.
He might be one of a kind and his world record might be there for years or generations. |

FYI...
Carl Lewis is 6'2" and he used to tower over everyone. So Usain being 6'5" is what has me in awe. |

What in the hell do Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps have to do with each other? Michael Phelps OWNED the Olympics for a week straight and he had his 'moment' 8 times over and he is done now so why would people still be focused on him? Usain is doing his thing and nobody can take that away from him but saying that people are hating on him simply because he is taking the 'shine' away from somebody who isn't even at the Olympics anymore doesn't make sense. Usain's cockiness doesn't bother me, in fact I think he is hilarious but I knew from the moment he was pounding on his chest and looking back at the other competitors in the 100m that certain people would take offense. |

He is cocky but at this point he deserves to be. His gold flats embroidered for each race make me laugh though.
is bolt his real last name? |

NBC wasn't talking about track and field while Michael Phelps was swimming so they aren't going to be talking about swimming while Usain Bolt is running...why don't you get that? Usain Bolt can run a 100m in 2 seconds flat and Michael Phelps will still be the greatest Olympian ever because he has done something than no other Olympian has ever done. It is stupid as hell to think that people aren't falling over themselves over Usain Bolt just because he took the shine away from someone who isn't even particpating in the damn games anymore.

girl7here wrote: Phelps career gold medals = 14. More than any other Olympic competitor. That's why NBC declared him "the greatest Olympian ever." That's up to personal interpretation. If you don't believe that his achievements are that special, that's your prerogative. Just like it is the prerogative of people not to think Bolt's 2 career golds merit discussion in that list. Especially in a sport rife with doping. Bolt didn't mess up any "scenario." NBC built their first week coverage around Phelps' quest for 8 gold medals and he delivered. But the swimming is over. It is time for competitors in other sports to shine. There are thousands of athletes at the games. Why does praise have to be centered on one athlete? You seem to be insinuating that nobody should praise Phelps or other athletes and the accolades should all go to Bolt. You also don't seem to comprehend that countries will support their athletes above athletes from other countries. Why wouldn't NBC/Americans focus on Michael Phelps? Just like I'm sure the attention is centered around Bolt in Jamaica. And I do find Bolt's showboating a little over-the-top and disrespectful. Apparently a lot of people do since the IOC chairman felt the need to comment on his post-race behavior. |

He's definitely annoying. I'm annoyed by the Jamaican dominating track like nobody's business though

That IOC chairman should have kept his mouth shut. Of ALL the things to comment on regarding these games he chooses to pick on the one racer from Jamaica that
has brought life to the second half of these games. I don't care if you agree or disagree with Bolt's showboating. Rogge's comments were uncalled
for.

IOC chairman was an epic fail for commenting on that when he should've had balls to comment on the other bullshit that has been going on like GYMNASTICS
bitchassness.
Bolt has the right to showboat if he feels like it, he was excited he was the best in running, he can do what he wants. But saying Bolt is the greatest olympian ever with 2 gold medals? Please. That title is rightfully given to Michael Phelps, most gold medals ever, and also most in just one olympics year. Doesn't matter what you think is most difficult, you can't take that away from him. Bolt has a lot more to go through before he can even come close. |
