Trying to learn how to cook. haha. And potentially would like to cook dinner tonight. Anyone know of any good cooking blogs that aren't super advanced?
I did a google search but couldn't come up with anything good. Thanks

Well, my situation is that my boyfriend is always the one that cooks. I mean, he works his 10 hour day and then comes home and starts cooking and I feel bad
especially because I could do it on my days off.
So...anything really that I can't mess up too much. I saw those baking blogs that someone posted and they were so nice and well put together that I decided to start looking for a cooking one. Do you think it's better just to go to a recipe site and then search by the kind of food? I'm not TOO picky on what to make, just so that I can't screw it up so bad. haha. |

I recommend cooks.com too. They have a ton of recipes and most ingredients are stuff you would have on hand. They are also easy to follow.

I always use the Food Network site. They have a wide range of recipes, easy to hard.
What do you want to make? I could probably help too. |

Burgers and fries aren't too impressive. Plus, boyfriend likes to grill and would probably prefer it if I let him do that. haha. I'll definitely check
out those ideas. Thank you

Here's a very easy recipe - I like to have this with meatloaf. You can make them in the oven and they come out at the same time.
Restaurant Style Hash Brown Casserole (if you have been to Cracker Barrel - it tastes like theirs) INGREDIENTS 1 (2 pound) package frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup (**I don't use this, I use a small can of chicken broth instead**) 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray one 9x13 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine the potatoes, butter, salt, pepper, onions, soup and cheese. Gently mix and pour into prepared pan or dish. Bake uncovered for 35 minutes. (** I am in Denver and it usually takes me just about 1 hour until it's done - I cook covered for 45 min and uncovered for 15 - I don't like the top to be too crispy, that's my reasoning) |
