I did something dumb today that I'm beating myself up over. Anyone want to share their stories and make me feel better?

I work in retail. My biggest fuck-up was probably advertising the wrong price for a TV in print and in an e-blast (I advertised it as $200 less than it should
have been).
In hindsight, it's not the end of the world, but at the time, I was freaking out thinking I'd lose my job or something. I mean, I had sent it to the appropriate people to sign off on, but still, it was deemed my mistake. Eh, I got over it in a couple of days. There were no customer service issues about it either. |

sent data to a client that had errors and they weren't found until the day he had to present them to his clients

I ran a report for a client without removing a line of test data that threw the results off a bit. Then for the same client I ran the wrong report format and
gave them more feedback than they had paid for. They're jinxed.

I used to work at a grocery store, and I often "closed" at the end of the night, meaning I counted tills and stored them in the safe among other
things. Well, once I locked the safe up...without the tills in it. I don't have the code to unlock the safe. So I had to hide them for the night and leave
a note explaining why the tills weren't in the safe.

I accidentally left a kid outside once. That's a big no-no in the daycare business. Whoops!

I made the company lose like $1000 once. Oops? I'm not the only one though that's screwed up on that same very thing, I just don't think anyone was
ever that high.
But that's ok! I can't do that again! After that we called our software programmers and had them change the default to Yes instead of No so someone would have to change it to no in order to sell something they weren't supposed to. So see, technically I was a problem solver. I created a problem and they fixed it so no more problems like that would happen. |

I collect all the money at the end of the night. I forgot 2 out of 34 and I got written up for it. Joy.

I was making a thousand dollar deposit for a customer once and accidentally typed in ten thousand. My boss was right behind me to see it and talked to me about
it for like half an hour.
And I got played by a fraudster a month or two ago and lost the bank like $3,000. Yaaay. |

During inventory, I forgot to add a shit-ton of slippers and other merchandise that totaled to be alot of money. We were able to add it later on but our store
looked stupid for making such a big mistake.

Well I was moving and collecting boxes. This technically wasn't my fault though. The girl who was undoing our order made a pile of empty boxes for me to
take home that I just threw in my basement.
I went to take one like 2 months later and found it to be pretty heavy. There were about 300 vaccines in there that weren't good anymore since they weren't refrigerated. I never told my boss and he never found out though. |

I was supposed to call someone to let them know to come in, and I totally forgot to make that phone call.
At first the other person was in trouble, but they were like "uhhh no. Wasn't loveblades19 supposed to call me or something?" and then the attention went straight to my dumbass and I was all like |

This is probably not the biggest or most serious issue, but one time I made a mistake that led to a machine eating some personal photos when I worked retail
for a copy center. It was a customer I knew and I was pretty much in tears when she came. Thankfully, they had doubles so she didn't kill me.

When I was 18, I was an administrative assistant for the IT department of a division of Wells Fargo Bank...so we are talking hundreds if not thousands of
employees. Gosh thinking about it still embarrasses me....
We, as in ALL employees, received a company wide email. I meant to reply to the sender which was the "head" administrative assistant with my question regarding the announcement. Um, yea...I hit reply to all.
So for the next few weeks, random people would email me telling in detail the difference between reply and reply to all and how stupid I was....yea you f*ckers...like I didnt realize the second it happened. |
