I'm just happy it's coming back at all, but I feel like it'll never be the same. Nothing could top season 1, it was the perfect season. They start filming again in September I believe and i think that it premiered mid-October last year...so hopefully they'll stick to that schedule again.

Spoiler [+] The recent ones I've heard is that Matt is leaving and that at most he'll have a 5 episode arc to say goodbye. Tim and Lyla are done...which, I could take it or leave it...Minka is leaving the show so I don't want to see Tim stuck in a long distance relationship, it wouldn't work. I saw the casting for some new characters, one of which was a female named Becky, gorgeous beauty pageant girl that comes from the wrong side of the tracks, she catches Tim in bed with her mom and doesn't understand why he won't hook up with her too. Or that was what was given in her character description. Tyra won't even be given a send off, not because they don't want to do it but because her movie shooting schedule is conflicting with FNL's shooting schedule. So they might just have to pause her storyline and give her a send off in season 5. Possible new character descriptions Spoiler [+] [VINCE] African-American, a Junior in high school, 16-17 years old, from a lower-class background. He is charming but dangerous and sometimes a little menacing. His father is in jail and Vince is involved in criminal activity on his behalf. We first meet him quickly fleeing the cops of East Dillon and it is that kind of speed Vince brings to the football field as well as a toughness we've never seen before. He has a dark side and occasionally he snaps. We see him at one point being mocked for a football loss and winds up pulling a gun on the guy making fun of him...SERIES REGULAR [LUKE] Caucasian, a Junior in high school, 16-17 years old, a young Paul Newman type, cocky and charming. His family are ranchers, scraping to get by. Luke will initially be reluctant to become an integral part of the Lions. His enthusiasm for football has been stamped out by the politics that had him playing for Dillon and now for East Dillon. However, he is the strongest player on the team - except possibly for Vince - and he assumes a leadership role quickly which puts him at odds with Vince...SERIES REGULAR [JESS] Female, African-American, a Sophomore or Junior in high school, 16-17 years old, Jess is the daughter of the smoker at a local BBQ joint who was himself a onetime NFL hopeful who never made it. Raised in a family steeped in football lore Jess knows the game inside and out. She has several younger brothers who she coaches/bosses around during youth football practices. Jess is a force of nature, super-energetic, and the type to make a big entrance and big exit. I liked him with Lyla, but I also thought it was sort of too soon for them to get together. I'd like to see her come back when he leaves. Really, anything can happen on this show to almost anyone and I would still watch it. If they dare FUCK with Coach and Tami, I am gone. They are the heart of the show. Everything is just filler.

As long as coach is still around I'll still watch...I'm looking forward to him having to deal with an entire new school and team. And if Buddy teams up with him, it should be pretty entertaining. I am worried they're going to do something with Coach and Tami because Connie Britton mentioned something about their relationship maybe having some marital bumps in the future. I don't know how much of that was her just speculating or her actually knowing what was going to happen in this upcoming season. And I'd totally be all about Tim and Julie. Aimee did an interview with Ausiello from EW and seems to think that her and Matt are going to be together, even after he leaves. But Tim and Julie just seems like it should happen. I'm looking forward to the new Billy and Mindy baby too, that should be comedy gold.

I like everyone else, too, but I probably won't miss once they're out of sight. I liked Tim more when he was with Lyla--by that I mean the somewhat mature person he was. I like him anyway, but the drunken broody 'nobody loves me' teenager cowboy stuff can get kind of tiring. I don't care what they do as long as Eric, Tami, and Tim are there.

I'm telling you, I'm DYING for Tim and Julie. I wish they would make it happen! The dynamics between Coach and Tim in that situation would be awesome. They totally dropped the ball when he was living with them and helped Julie to her room that night. And yeah basically as long as this show is on tv and Kyle still plays Coach, I'll watch.

I don't like Tim and Julie. Admittedly it would be interesting, but I feel like Julie wouldn't be that kind of girl to just date football players and to spite Coach. She's done that and I don't want to see that dynamic recycled. You know what else, I hope they keep the filming the same. The way that show is filmed is exquisite. Probably one of the main reasons why I watch it over and over.
