I have a lot of work to do before Monday. I brought my work laptop home along with some papers, but I'm not sure how much I'll get done with all the
distractions here, but I really don't want to go to the office, either. Ugh. What do you do?

I always work from home Fridays and get tons of work done. But it also helps because my work laptop has every site blocked.
What about going to a Starbucks or coffee shop? I sometimes do that. |

My work laptop has all the networking sites blocked. I was thinking about going to a coffee shop down the street, actually. If I'm here, I'm distracted
by my dog, my regular laptop, and my TV. Ugh.

On weekends- the office because it's empty and there are zero distractions. During the week I get far too distracted with things around the house to get a
lot accomplished at home.

I always just stay at work to get everything done because I'm more focused there. Way too many distractions at home or anywhere else for me. Plus I like
getting paid for the hours I'm putting in

Coffee shop is a great solution.

If you're easily distracted then you'll be distracted, even if you were in a cave void of anything. Try to set yourself little targets, like I'll
get this done by 6pm or things like that.

Pinkberry, I'm salaried, so my pay will stay the same whether I'm at work or not. Gravis, I know I'd get a ton done if I went to the office because
I'd have my double monitors (desktop monitor plus laptop screen), and I'd have all my resources handy. I'll probably have to go tomorrow to do some
production on my books, but today I'm lazy.

Saturday at the office in sweats with a huge ass cup of coffee is key. I should have gone this morning.

I'm salaried too, but as long as I'm logged into my work laptop, I can log the OT hours.
I wouldn't mind going to work, but it's also an hour from home so coffee shop is best! |

I went through a period where I was super productive at home and that has really changed over the last year or two so I try to come to the office instead. I
moved a lot closer to my office two years ago, which might be part of it as well.
Pluses for the office are 1) you have all of your resources, 2) less distractions (though here I am on JJB at work), and 3) not lugging a bunch of shit home. Pluses for home are 1) being able to take a break and get some stuff done around the house, 2) comfort, 3) not feeling like you're chained to your desk 24-7, and 4) not having to work up the motivation to actually make it in to the office. I used to have 60-70 hour work weeks quite regularly and after years here I just don't have the motivation to sacrifice my life that I once did. I need to kick that back in somehow or else I'm never going to get all of my shit done. BLECK. |

Honestly, I get the most done when I am on travel at a meeting away from the office. Zero distractions because I can't goof off in front of other attendees
and I fire off all kinds of emails. My coworkers HATE it when I'm on travel.

I get the most done on weekends when I'm not in procrastination mode because our 458,384,248 new hires aren't here to pester me with questions or beg
me for work that we don't have to give them because we hired 458,384,247 more people than we need.
