for the most part i liked it. it's fun seeing somebody get their first cell phone or to see how somebody reacts the first time you put a blackberry in
their hands when they have no clue about them. if you're working in a store, you'll probably have many repeat customers and it's kinda fun to be
able to learn about them and their family. you'll call them when a new phone/plan comes out, things like that. there will be some really cool customers you
meet. it's great when they come back and thank you for hepling make their business run better, things like that. it sound corny but it'll happen.
the bad part is the quota (i don't know how verizon's quota works) but just in general. your boss loves you until your not hitting your numbers. then it feels like the whole world is against you. somebody might come with a question about their bill and you're expected to upgrade them to a new blackberry, add a data card and sell 4 car chargers. if you don't you'll have the boss hovering over you asking you 12,000 questions about why you didn't get the sale. it is what is it though. you'll also have a bunch of idiot (for lack of a better word) customers. they know nothing about nothing and want you to spend 2 hours with them showing them every single feature on every phone, while the actual paying customers are being helped by the other employees. you need to be able to be polite, yet firm. look dude i've showed you all i can about the phone, now it's time for you to buy or leave. old people also suck. they always have prepaid and always get mad when they have to add $4/month, of course they never know their phone number and it's like pulling teeth to get to out the money on their account. you'll also have lots of issues with billing and phones breaking. every few days a dad will come in screaming why his bill is so high!!!!!!1111 once you sit down and review the bill with him, you tell him it's because his son/daughter sent 14,000 texts when they only get 400 or they downloaded tons of ringers and games. of course the dad never believes you. his baby would never do that, it's our mistake, get the manager!!!! uh huh. phones getting wet is another thing. people always drop their phones in the pool or the toilet or the sink or whatever and come in and scream that our phones suck they want a new one. when you show them the water tab on the back has been wet and that voids the warranty they scream and go on and on. even keeping the phone in the bathroom when you shower can do it. all in all you have to kind of keep your head up. be friendly and polite. there are more nice people than mean people, although sometimes it doesn't feel like it. if you're interested in cell phones and technology you'll love it. we were always getting trainings on the new phones/services, getting to play with them, our manager even let us take home the new phones to play with for a few days. sorry if it's so long. i could go on for hours. lol. anything in particular you have questions about? |

You have fun with that.
I had a unpleasant experience with Verizon a few months ago. I've been a customer for ten years with out any problem, never once complained or had a problem with a phone until this year and they treated me like I was a frequent complainer. The woman called me a liar to my face. |

Seaner, you still work for them? When will the new 5.0 OS be out for the Storm?

I think you basically covered it. They never once in the interview touched upon what was expected of me and kept saying it would be covered in the training.
The training is 4 weeks so I'm sure it will, but I would have liked to know before hand.
I applied while working somewhere else. I have yet to tell my current employer that I was hired/looking elsewhere. Verizon called today and said they are doing my background check and will be calling them today. The hiring process is long and drawn out. I'm worried my current employer (whom has cut my hours because of lack of business) is going to freak haha. |

Another question for anyone at VZW. They stressed professional business attire the last time I spoke when they gave me my 4 week training info.
Does that mean everything has to be a suit? Or can I wear dress pants and cute tops? |
