they are extremely strict on "internet usage".... as in you can't use the internet AT ALL the entire day unless it's work related or you
automatically get fired?

Hell no. Unless I was seriously running out of money and there were NO other options.

Yes, because I'm supposed to be working anyway, not surfing the net. Actually, my job now doesn't allow internet access except on breaks. We're not
even allowed to touch our cellphones while working.

Yes. Well, given that it's a fun job and pays well.

If it's a job that will keep me busy though out the work day and not a lot of down time. Sure.

If I had my choice of jobs, then no, but in this economy, I don't think that's outrageous. They are paying you to work.

Well won't it look bad if you're checking your cell phone at your desk? I dunno, the job pays $4,000 less than my last job and I will be working 9+
hours. I don't think I could work somewhere from 9-6 and possibly overtime some weeks without being able to surf the internet, even if it's just for 10
minutes the entire day

Yes.
I can't used the internet at my job. Only the nurse manager has internet access. I'm like to be busy at work, makes time fly. I don't need the internet at work. |

what's the job?
If it's like... a teaching position vs. a job where you're confined to a cube all day, it makes a big difference. |

If you can afford to be picky, then turn it down, but if you aren't expecting a lot of other job offers, then I don't think no internet is really a
deal breaker.

Yes, but I'd be annoyed. I've never worked at a job where I was allowed to go on the internet, anyway... those were long, boring days. Besides, I now
have internet on my cell.. so I can go around their rules.

My last job was like that. I didn't mind. The job I'm at now I'm always moving around anyway so I don't even think about going online.

Yeah. I don't use the internet for personal reasons at work anyway because I'm paranoid about getting in trouble. It seems a little harsh that you
would get fired for looking up a train schedule or something, but I'd deal with it. I would never go on JJB or anything on a work computer.
