I've worked at Target for 2 1/2 years...I hate it, but I'm not quitting until I find something better.

i worked at a department store for 2 1/2 years. i loved it, mainly because i became friends with most of the ppl i worked with. i was working in accessories
around all of my favorite things, coach purses, guess watches, karen neuburger socks, :sigh i miss that discount.
the only thing honestly that i hated was xmas time. even though the time went by super fast because we were always busy. people were extremely rude for no reason around the holidays. and stupid black friday. having to be at work at 5 in the morning SUCKS...you miss out on all the good sales

I've worked in retail for about 10 years. There are worse jobs. I don't mind the work as much as I mind the attitudes of the people who shop, in
general. It's like they walk into a store and just because they may potentially spend 10 dollars in your store, expect you to bow down to them. It's
ridiculous, really. It's not even just one specific type of retail either, people generally have a crap attitude when they walk into a retail store.
It's like they lose all common sense and human decency.

Actually Kohl's is probably the best retail chain to work for. They have great training and great customer service.Unless they changed - the didn't do price check and shit. You can just give the customer the price. That helps a lot when it's a huge line behind them.

better.

1 1/2 at Babies R Us
The worst part is the ridiculous managers who sit on their ass all day while they command you do bitch work. I would love to quit but my full time job paychecks go to bills and student loans so this is extra money for me :-( |

I worked 2.5 years at Kids R Us and 4 months at Sears. Sears sucked majorly. KRU was fun at times, but some of the people that shopped there were ridiculous.
Oh, and you NEVER want to work a going out of business sale. Those bring in the crazies, and bring out the worst in people who are usually sane. I got cursed
out one time when KRU was going out of business for putting a small mark on the back of the tags inside clothes. We had to so we knew which clothes were sold
after the divestiture, because those couldn't be returned. Man, you would have thought I was taking the sharpie and drawing all over the clothes the way
the woman reacted.

Most of my senior year in high school, and I hated it at the end. People just suck sometimes, and they couldn't afford to high enough people to cover the
one who sucked. The customers were fine, I don't mind helping people at all. But the people I worked with? I never want to see any of them again.

9 months at Macy's, but I was in visual merchandising, and I left because I had a better offer from a publishing company. I couldn't find a job that I
wanted, so I just worked at Macy's until something better came along.
That being said, I really liked it

I worked at Bombay Company for 3 months during the holidays. Hated it. Then I worked at a store called Tuesday Morning for like 2 weeks and quit. Never again!
