I wasn't going to even go today, but I'm glad I talked myself into it. Started out with 2 miles of running. Then:
1 minute walking
2 minutes at 7 mph
1 minute walking
1.5 minutes at 7.5 mph
1 minute walking
1 minute at 8 mph
1 minute walking
1 minute at 7 mph
5 minutes walking
I had a really good run today.

Did you take notes as you were doing all of this?

No, I just remember what I did so I know how much to push myself next time.

How do you remember all of this? And is this at the gym? I tried running in the evening the last two nights and it was a huge fail each time.

Yeah, I run at the gym. I don't like running in the park when it's warm out, and it was already getting dark when I decided to go. Forest Park in STL
is not safe after dark. It's kind of a bummer, because I can never run outside now that the time has changed. It's always dark when I get home from
work.
I remember because I always do a slightly modified version of the same thing. There's actually a pattern to it! Run two miles, then walk/run building to 8, then back to 7! |

I memorize my runs daily, too. But I can't remember what I ran two or three days ago. I usually only remember it to plan my next run around it, and then
it's gone.
I started running back the end of July, and I'd gotten up to being able to run a mile straight. Then I took a month off, and when I tried to run again this past week, I was able to do a whole freakin' TWO MINUTES. It was so fucking pathetic.

It's so weird how easy it is to build up endurance, and how easy it is to lose it. Running is one of the few physical activities where I have no muscle
memory unless I really stay consistent.

Don't you have an iPhone? I think there's an app for running. |

That's a lot of details to remember. You must be smart.
I just keep track of what houses I run by on the street. |

Nice job. I think if I turned the treadmill up to 8mph, I wouldn't be able to keep up and would fly off the back.

I remember mine too. I usually repeat it or think about it as I'm running.
My gym got new treadmills a couple of weeks ago and the first time on it I ran the longest I had ever ran without stopping in my life. It's like running on air. That's been good motivation! |

Hehe! I had a great run, too! AND I live in STL!
Are you going to run the 5k on the stretch of 40 when it opens? I am, and I CAN'T WAIT! |

Nope, I have a shitty Blackberry that I hate. Running on treadmills is a bit easier, but I usually get so bored that I stop running.
I didn't hear about the 5K, and I live like half a mile from the new stretch of 40 at Kingshighway. Tell me more! |

There's going to be cycling time trials, a food drive, and a 5K race! It's all going down on December 6th. I can't wait. St. Louis Track Club is going to host it. You can sign up at their website in a few days when registration opens. |

You should work out with me. Run a mile, 100 push ups, run a mile, 100 sit ups, run a mile, 100 pull ups, run a mile, die. The other day, I got to carry a
cinder block around while I was running.
