I'm hoping this tension between Dexter and Quinn is leading up to Quinn dying.

^ Right? I can't stand that asswipe.
If only they would off Rita also. |

I don't get why people hate Rita so much. I love them together. Do you not want Dexter with a wife, and kids? That what makes it fun. The conflict that he
faces because of it.

It has nothing to do with people not wanting Dexter with a wife and everything to do with how she turned into a hormonal, whiny monster this season who
basically expects Dexter to do everything meanwhile he's the only one who actually works. And on top of that, she has the nerve to call him an absent
father? It's like bitch, you're at home doing shit, while Dexter makes the income. And then on top of it, Dexter is also the one doing everything for
the baby like staying up ALL night to sing to the kid, making emergency stops for ear medicine, etc. And he's an absent father? GTFO.
I didn't mind Rita during the first season. But as the show progressed, in my opinion, she has turned into a self absorbed, self righteous asshole. Astor also, but that's a different story. But hey, that's just me. |

In S2 it was because she thought he was a drug addict and didn't want him in her life or her kids lives if he wasn't in rehab. To me that's a responsible mother's decision. Later that season it was about Lila (who turned out to be a friggin lunatic!) again that was valid. In S3 when she was pregnant she was hormonal but there weren't any major problems between the two of them. She sort of understood that Dexter was having trouble with the idea of having his own child and she gave him space. In S4 she's not sitting on her ass all day, she's taking care of 3 kids while he's working and killing people. Yes, he has to sing to the baby. I can think of a hundred new fathers who do the same thing often because the baby is more responsive to the tone in one voice than another. Getting the baby ear infection meds is also a valid request. She probably couldn't leave the other two kids alone to get the medicine so she called her husband to do it. In the last few eps I don't think Rita was complaining about him being an absent father. I think she always acknowledged that he was good with the kids. But she objected to him lying to her about keeping his apartment and to the larger issue of his difficulty opening up to her and being honest with her. She'd had a bad experience with marriage previously so she probably also has some trust issues. All that makes sense. Once Dexter started to make the effort she was very responsive. She wanted him to go on the camping trip with Cody in tonights ep becuase he'd already committed to it (even if he hadn't realized it) and she didn't want to disappoint him. As for Astor, she's a 12 year old girl. Snotty bitch tends to fall into the job description!
I think Rita takes flack from fans because she's an anchor on Dexter's activities. She's the mundane. But she's necessary for the tension between the two sides of Dexters life. |

Hey Jane Smith thanks for writing that, because I was just about too. Saved me some time.

Rita bugged in tonight's episode. Astor's shelves could have waited until the weekend and I'm sure Rita doesn't sit on her ass all day but she
sure as hell could have assembled a baby bouncer on her own. Quinn and his girlfriend Tits McGee continue to get on my nerves. And the writers need to stop
trying to make us care about LaGuerta and Angel.

Quinn and his girlfriend Tits McGee continue to get on my nerves. But HOLY SHIT! Tonight's episode was insane! I know the season finale is going to be nuts. Just totally nuts. Harry is pretty funny sometimes. "This is your role model? He kills innocent people but he can't kill Bambi?" |

I agree about Rita, she's not bad and she is necessary.
I have no idea what they are trying to do with the Batista/LaGuerta hook up, but I am not feeling it at all, they don't even have good chemistry and it came out of nowhere. I was really enjoying Angel with the girlfriend from S3, it's disappointing they ended that so quickly. The only thing I find beyond annoying is the constant Harry visions, and the fact that Quinn and his GF are so fucking brutal. |

Continuing the Harry storyline is pointless. Dexter barely even listens to him.

JC wears Manties wrote: It's not about Dexter listening him, Harry is sort of the voice of Dexters alter ego at this point. He's what reminds Dexter of what's at stake if/when he gets caught, he also voices Dexter's conflicts about deviating from the "code" that Harry taught him, and he vocalizes Dexter's impulses. Like when Trinity gave him the axe to kill the deer, a part of him wanted to kill him then and there. That's the part Harry wold have advocated. Whether or not Dexter listened to it, it lets us know that Harry's still a part of Dexter |

This episode was great! I was freaking when Quinn followed him. I thought for sure he was going to find something out.
