"Plus-size lovers"? Oh great. Now we're going to get crude fat jokes. I love Bones, but they always have something snarky to say about people in
a niche. I was surprised there weren't more jokes in last week's dwarf episode. (Although I'm sure plenty of little people were offended at having
their type portrayed as leprechauns and hokey wrestlers.)

^^ They were actually pretty good about it. I'm not plus-sized, but other than one scene that may have been questionable, I didn't notice anything that
made me raise my eyebrows.

guesswhatelse wrote: Are you talking about the nightclub scene? I only just flipped over for a second, but that made me cringe. Stereotypical "big black woman" macking on Booth and telling him what he's missing. I'll have to watch the whole thing before I can continue to comment. But they've done this before. The girl who became obsessed with Booth and shot him when Bones was singing in the karaoke bar? She was plus-sized. Of course she was! Because a thin person would never have to resort to stalking/obsession to get a man!

I've never been offended by the show.

I'm not offended by the show specifically, per se, just TV's treatment in general of plus-sized people. I think Drop Dead Diva is the only show that
tackles this head on and treats people like people and not "types."
Generally speaking I love Bones and its offbeat snarkiness, it's just these few little things that bother me from time to time. |
