Cover letters are awkward. It's basically a person bragging about themselves.

Try to be as concise as possible. Stick to education and the info contained in your resume. Oh, and refer back to the job you are applying for and how the
experience contained in your resume qualify you for the position. For most jobs a cover letter shouldn't be any longer than 2-3 paragraphs anyway.

Yeah, they've got to be short and concise but they're still a bitch and a half to write. I wish I could just do a damn form cover letter and send it
out to whoever but you need to make them specific for each job and that's such a pain in the ass.
I already have a job (looking to move on) and haven't had to deal with cover letters in about 5 years. Remembering how much I hated them then and hate them even more now. |
