My grandmother sent some money to my cousin, but then he wasn't able to pick it up because he forgot his ID so they sent the money back to my grandmother. It took her about a week for the money to come back to her, but she got it. That was with Western Union though.

Usually when you do a wire transfer though, the person who goes to pick it up, gets it in the form of a money order. They then have the option to cash it there or take it to their bank.

MoneyGram and Western Union are separate companies, and WalMart just facilitates the transactions. You can also do this at grocery stores.

Posts: 14664 06/04/2011 4:31 PM	A few years back I asked someone at walmart about a Money Order and if the recipient ends up not needing it, all I had to do was bring in the receipt along with the money order, with NOTHING written on it and they could refund. If I were to fill out the Money order Id be shit out of luck but since I didn't, I was able to get my money back.
