They also said on a show how they go to Goodwill for clothes and hand a lot of things down to the other kids as the older ones grow out of things. They don't have expensive furnishings in their houses either. I know it must have been a huge loss though when Meri lost her job. One of the other blonde ones, I think Christine maybe? said she works because she mentioned it. They probably also do some major coupon shopping. I noticed the last show I watched that he took one of the wives, on their weekend getaway, camping so that's not expensive and then when he took the other wife with the kids to Vegas they went off season so got a really great rate for their room with the kids and she brought food from home so they could have breakfast in the room, ie. cereal, juice, yougurt.

And I don't know what kind of car it is he has, but maybe it's not that expensive nor has all the bells and whistles? I'm just not sure yet what his job is.

It's Janelle that lost her job from moving. Meri lost hers last season when they went public but Janelle REALLY contributed monetarily so i don't know how they're getting by. Other expenses you don't think about are medical. Some of those kids aren't covered on Kody's insurance b/c he has like a billion and the wives don't work. I remember in early seasons them talking about one of the kids having emergency surgery for appendectomy and they had to pay out of pocket and years later they're still making payments.

I'm sure that's bringing in some money, and maybe even providing employee health benefits. As far as the medical insurance goes, I could swear they said that all the kids are covered under Kody's insurance, but Meri is the only wife that's legally recognized, so she's the only wife that's covered. Meri had some sort of health crisis last season, and had to have some tests done.

It really does sound like none of them are happy and they feel trapped - especially since things have been turned upside down with the move. It annoys me that Kody can do whatever he wants regardless of how it affects everyone else. He's got 16 kids (right?) and 4 wives and apparently he is the only one that really matters.
